Instagram has rolled out yet another new feature this week allowing your friends to see when you are active on Insta or when your last activity was.
This feature is similar to Facebook Messenger, and while the update only allows people you follow and those you’ve sent Direct Messages to to see your status, it is automatically turned on by default.
To see for yourself, head to messages and the users you’ve corresponded with previously. Next to their name you’ll see a list of when they were last active.
I like the photo element of Instagram and rarely use it as a communicative tool, hence I see little benefit in this change for me. If you are like me and not keen on this update, head to Settings and select “Show Activity Status”. Toggle it off and you can continue to ‘Gram in relative anonymity.
